remember my favorite customer from yesterday? let's call her ms. mac-n-cheese shall we in honor of her stellar performance last year while purchasing bladder pads and mac-n-cheese with her friend. ha, now i'm naming customers, awesome.
anyway ms. mac-n-cheese called THREE more times the following day to rip our heads off about her granddaughter's meds, which as promised were being delivered by the first delivery man to leave our store. apparently this wasn't enough, she needed to call three times. anyhoo the driver gets there and she refuses to pay him the four dollar co-pay AND she rips the bag from his hands and attempts to shut the door on him. after a verbal scuffle she begrudginly shuffles up the stairs and digs through her granddaughter's room and finds four dollars but not before lying to the driver and telling her that one of my co-workers ok'ed him to leave the medicine without the co-pay. thankfully our driver is nobody's fool (and has witnessed this technique before) and so he called to confirm this information. s
he finally did pay him and then after he left called the store and whined about having to borrow money from the neighbors. but wait didn't i just report that according to the driver's account she found the money in her granddaughter's room? oh wait, that's right, she lied to us again. so anyway she was upset about the co-pays and my co-workers politely discussed it with her and then let her know that this delivery was a. not a surprise b. her granddaughter should have made arrangements to leave money and c. she's had co-pays before and thus this also was not a surprise. she then asked ms. mac-n-cheese if the person that she was actually upset with might in fact be her granddaughter and not our store. guess what? ms. mac-n-cheese said yes and apologized. again.
one of my most favorite and dear customers is named mrs. med e. cation (i assume that this is straightforward first name=med middle initial=e and last name=cation). that's right MRS. med e. cation. do not call her ms. cation. don't even think about it. and should you happen to be a foolish person and call her "med" instead of mrs. cation you just might receive the verbal tongue-lashing the likes of which you have never heard before. ask our driver, he can tell you all about it.
so after a 20 minute phone call yesterday where i determined that ms. cation's insurance policy has changed and that her co-pays have in fact tripled, through no-fault of my own might i add, and also where we reviewed that the store policy is indeed that the driver may not leave the medication without payment, ms. med e. cation has informed me that she is holding ME personally responsible for these two things. that's right. ME. yes ma'am absolutely, why i DID pick your insurance policy AND choose to charge you this money. in fact i also wrote store policy.
after informing me that i was at fault and that because of me and my actions she was going to a. switch insurance policies immediately and b. switch pharmacies she proceeded to inform the driver of this situation repeatedly before letting him leave her house. while on the phone with me she also asked the driver to get her glasses, turn on the light, turn off the tv, read a letter, get her purse, read me her prescription id #, feed the cat, water the plants, rotate the mattress........ok so i made up the last three items. good grief, our poor driver. i guess this is the payback he receives for calling her "med" instead of mrs.
p.s. i just proved that i am not from pittsburgh. i destroyed the pierogies. again. i can't cook them! you'd think it would not be not hard to saute something. you would be wrong. stupid potato filled pasta-y half moons of goodness.
