no takers on the grizzly bears eh? that's ok, that's ok. we've still got two weeks for it to sink into your brain that you really do want to go see the show with me.
i had to turn on some music a few minutes ago to overcome the fact that my neighbors, whose windows are wide open, are blasting what i'm fairly certain is the beastie boys at top volume. a little relient k please itunes. or maybe some of this. see i told you i'd work it in somewhere. anyway, it is a fantastic fall day. i hauled out the fall decorations yesterday and realized that i don't own that many. that might be ok because it's really easy to cross the line and have my house start to look like my mothers. "country clutter-y" (think wooden pilgrims and smiling pumpkins at every turn, maybe a mini-hay bale). i admit it, i don't mind the country clutter so much, but you've got to keep it minimal and tasteful (if possible). i informed lisa that she needed to find the indian corn in her closet and she replied "well i may as well haul out the holly too because it's going to take me that long to find the corn". of course that erupted into lisa and i singing loudly and off key "haul out the holly" while getting ready for church.
i am very sad to report that i bought my mums early and on sale and 1. they are now completely dead because i didn't re-pot them quickly enough and 2. home depot now has mums that are twice as big as my dead ones for the same price. man, i lose. i'll be buying some new ones. perhaps not as many.
i haven't missed college in years, all of a sudden i am. weird.
and now: things i miss about college.
1. chicken salad wraps from mckinleys. i don't care how bad they were for me i miss them! chicken salad with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and a few onions washed down with cheetos and pepsi. mmm. delicious. every once in a while i order chicken salad somewhere just to recreate the deliciousness of sudexo-marriot food and it never lives up. i am tempted to write to the dining hall services and ask them for the recipie of old so that i can make it myself.
2. having friends to eat dinner with. think about it: how many times a week did you get to meet up for a meal with friends? i really miss that. kati and i used to go and camp out at schultz several evenings a week and eat 17 course meals (mostly vegetables and granola mind you). it was awesome. kristi and i used to have "fat thursdays" where we would eat, i'm not kidding, a death basket from brooks, a slice of pizza, and a bowl of ice cream. gosh, i can feel my arteries clogging just talking about it. ok so overall the food wasn't great, but i did enjoy getting to eat with a community of people so frequently.
