silence. and concerts.

i returned a call today from an organization updating their directory information. so i tell the woman who i am and what church i'm calling from and she starts asking me information. do you have a church website? no. church e-mail? no. church secretary? yes, that's me. so at this point i'm expecting her to say "ok can i get your name?" but instead i hear papers shuffling. so i think ok, she's writing down the other information, she'll ask me for my name in a minute. seconds tick by. and then more. and now we've reached the awkward silence phase. i'm debating asking her if she needs any other info, but she's still not saying anything. it got weirder and weirder and still she said nothing. finally i break the silence by asking her if she's still there. and she says yes, i'm still here. silence again. so i say i'm sorry i thought you were writing down information. and she says well if you don't want to provide the name of the secretary i'll just write down none. apparently the whole time she was silent waiting for me to tell her the info and i assumed she'd ask when she was ready for it. it was sooo awkward.

i'm going to see Switchfoot and Copeland tonight for free! a friend just called and said he has an extra ticket and wondered if i would go. um yes. i love concerts! switchfoot is excellent too. i need to go listen to some copeland right now because i've never really heard much of their music.
